Immersive, experiential learning…

Cnoc Suain Academic Programme

The academic programme, for Universities and Colleges, is presented by two qualified teachers - Cnoc Suain founders, natural scientist Charlie Troy, and local Gaelic speaker and musician Dearbhaill StandΓΊn - who have a deep-rooted passion for learning, culture, nature and creativity.

During their visit, students are immersed in an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary place-based experiences exploring aspects of Irish cultural and natural heritage.

Cnoc Suain is founded on the principles of sustainability and regeneration promoting transformational learning experiences. Charlie’s background as a science teacher enables him to fully engage students in the vital role eco-systems, particularly boglands and wet woodlands, play in sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere thus naturally mitigating the impact of climate change.
